The extreme mechanical demands and the freedom from maintenance required over many years, for instance in offshore operation, require a combination of suitable product design, modern manufacturing processes and uncompromising quality awareness. KUVAG develops and manufactures components for wind power couplings produced from composite materials. That involves polymers being bonded to steel or aluminum, and thanks to extremely tight manufacturing tolerances, they meet the wind turbine manufacturers’ requirements for their couplings without any dimensional distortion. This permits tens of kNm to be transferred.
