Industry
Tubes made of glass fiber reinforced plastic are used in a wide variety of applications. Their different manufacturing and design options and the qualities of their base materials permit optimal adjustments to be made in relation to the respective application. In addition to their operating conditions and service life requirements, these tubes can also be designed to meet special requirements. Their outstanding properties mean they meet the needs of a broad range of applications from the water, wastewater, oil, gas, and recycling sectors. Traditional mechanical engineering also frequently turns to GRP tubes, given their low weight and long service life. One of our company’s core skills is precise design regarding pressure or bending.
There are numerous applications involving polymer products in the industrial sector, some of which are very specific and where KUVAG’s technology and experience are in high demand. What all these applications have in common is that they place the highest demands on the quality of the components used. Our experts have utilized the extensive technology portfolio at KUVAG to develop customized products and solutions for numerous critical sectors. These include solutions for wind power generation, medical technology, mechanical engineering, water treatment, or the chemical industry. Below are some examples of KUVAG solutions:
Medical technology, MRT
MRI scanners involve the use of functional, high-performance composites. The areas of application associated with MRI scanners place extreme demands on our products. In some cases, these include operation at the ultra-low temperature range, high mechanical loads and the requirements for low manufacturing tolerances, and long, low-maintenance service lives.
Wind power
The extreme mechanical demands and the freedom from maintenance required over many years, for instance in offshore operation, require a combination of suitable product design, modern manufacturing processes and uncompromising quality awareness. KUVAG develops and manufactures components for wind power couplings produced from composite materials. That involves polymers being bonded to steel or aluminum, and thanks to extremely tight manufacturing tolerances, they meet the wind turbine manufacturers’ requirements for their couplings without any dimensional distortion. Several XX Newton-meters can be transmitted in this way.
Machinery
There are numerous applications for GRP and other composites in traditional mechanical engineering. Lightweight construction combined with high strength and insensitivity to environmental influences lends itself to maritime applications or in applications where rotational mass plays an important role. Among other things, our products are also globally used as winding reels in the textile industry.
Sustainable solutions & the Green Deal
GRP pipes are now used worldwide in water treatment and filtration plants. Uncompromising quality and tight manufacturing tolerances are key features of KUVAG products. Their low rotational mass also means that KUVAG products are increasingly being used in recycling facilities.
